Lara Croft Causing Layoffs For Crytal Dynamics

According to IGN, the latest in the Laura Croft adventures, Tomb Raider: Underworld has not performed as well as expected and because of this some 30 individuals will be seeking employment elsewhere.
“We have increased the focus on the Tomb Raider franchise at Crystal Dynamics, regrettably this has resulted in the reduction in headcount,” a representative told Joystiq.
In years past Crystal Dynamics was responsible for one of the greatest stroytelling adventures in gaming history with Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. This franchise was truly amazing due to the writing and pacing of the adventures which were directed by Amy Henning. Amy is now the director of the smash hit Uncharted: Drakes Fortunes and the new Uncharted 2 hitting store shelves this year. With gamers being very picky nowadays with their hard earned dollars, it would seem logical for developers to have proven talent working on their most important franchises to alleviate all the turnover.
