PS3 Development: Better and More Affordable

According to Kotaku, Sony has just introduced new tools in North America and Europe. US $2,000 and €1,700 respectively, and for Japan at JPY 200,000.
Also mentioned in the article, Sony has been developing some robust software tools for developers that is expected to increase productivity for developers.
These tools have been referred to as SNC PPU toolchain for PLAYSTATION 3 (SNC). SNC has been utilized in blockbuster titles Fallout 3 and has even been used in the ever popular KILLZONE 2. This is excellent news on the Playstation 3 game development front. With game development becoming more efficient and cost effective this should be just in time for Playstation 3 price drop.
