LOST PLANET 2: The PS3 is Waiting….

Awhile back Playstation ThEvolution wrote an article asking the question, “Does the PS3 Really Need This Game?” due to the many multiplatform titles on the horizon along with the incredible PS3 exclusives releasing this year.  In that same article we asked the question, would PS3 users really be missing out if CAPCOM decided to keep this LOST PLANET 2 as a 360 exclusive? Well, let me first state that regardless of the plethora of titles coming out on the PS3 in 2009, LOST PLANET 2 looks absolutely amazing and must be experienced by PS3 users. LOST PLANET 2 echoes the same influences of the great PS2 title named Shadow Of The Colossus.

I must apologize for ever insinuating that LOST PLANET 2 was not needed for the PS3. Taking down creatures the size of Godzilla with three other players online is a must-have experience for all gamers regardless of the platform. All great games or games that appear great such as LOST PLANET 2 should be experienced by everyone.

Capcom please bring this game to the PS3, you won’t be dissapointed.

Great post Shadowolf, i knew you would soon agree with me about Lost Planet 2. I championed this game in response to your original question and i think many PS3 owners will begin to realize this game is a game that must be experienced. I am so thrilled about this game and i can say i’m glad it’s on the Xbox 360 but as a gamer i hope PS3 owners will get this on the PS3.

LOST PLANET IS SUPPOSE TO BE A GREAT GAME BUT IT IS $9.99 @ BEST BUY. IF LOST PLANET 2 IS ANYTHING LIKE THE FIRST LOST PLANET THEN WE CAN KEEP WAITIN.

    @ R2_Deauce

You are judging an older game because it is $9.99, don’t be fooled. The first Lost Planet was a lot of fun and a graphical showoff game. The boss fights were off the charts. It was a great old school game on a modern day system. The major problem was the controls- good ol’ fahion eastern Japanese control which does not mix well with shooters. Everything else in the game was a thrill. Irregardless of the first game are you saying based upon the clip that Shado provided and based off of 4 player co op as well as sick player customization you are still not impressed? What other game is offering this type of experience?

    @ eman3d

I agree with you that the price of a game doesn’t define the experience. Correct me if i’m wrong but you often define the quality of a game with the quantity. For example you dog killzone 2 badly because it hasn’t sold a certain amount, which is fine. But Killzone 2 was a great overall experience and it shouldn’t be judged on sales. I guarantee if Killzone 2 was $9.99 you would be sayin the same thing I said about the first Lost Planet.

Lost planet(1)is on sale for $9.99 @ B.B. because it has been out for 2 maybe 3 years depending on ya system and the fact that part 2 is coming this year makes stores want to sell off leftover supplies while they have a chance. Who would buy LP1.. when LP2 is right next to it..thats like buying madden 08 for $35-$40 when madden 2010 will be out in 2 months..And for the record I am a big lost planet fan i love online multi-play and still play at least every other day..And if you never played LP I would recommend you get it for 9.99 to get caught up and look 4 me on ps3 (marisdaman)

  7. Shadowolf Said,

Shamar this is a great recommendation, thanks. We still don’t know how closely related LP2 will be with the original LP1 but if there is any story bridging between the two we definitely encourage gamer who are interested in LP2 to invest some time with LP1. LP2 is looking great from what has been shown, hopefully the total package can match the latest videos.

ive been playin Lp for over a yr now, & i play on ps3 sometime w/ ppl from 360 whove been playin for over 2 yrs. i dont think it will ever get old. Lp has a certain magic w/ its multipayer that makes it the best online shooter on both systems. Microsoft knows this as well as i do, now ask yourself again : why are stationers get f’d around about the sequel?

  9. Richard Said,

i think that it will be awesome to have lost planet 2 for the ps3, what they need to do is put it on the ps3 first, now xbox 360 is an okay system, i mainly liked it for halo, but there is no comparison with the ps3 especially playing lost planet 1 for the ps3 online. the actual game is okay but online rocks. ive been playing for the last 11 months although the last update messed up my online gameplay for the ps3, i had to start over with a level of 1 from a level of 72 on lost planet which sucked by the way, but no matter what i still will play lost planet 1 or even 2 when its out no matter what. look for me on lost planet my screen name is: riddek109. Trust me you wont be dissapointed at playing this game online, it rocks
