If you’re new to the gaming industry you will quickly learn that throughout the industry rumors run rampant. Nevertheless, many of these so-called rumors never ceae to amaze as oftentimes they are actually true.  

Of course this latest rumor isn’t something we at Thevolution Network are signing off as bonfide or factual, as no word from Nintendo has been expressed on the validity of this rumor. However, it does sound quite interesting.    

According to MAXCONSOLE, some news on the next Nintendo console (Wii2) has been leaked speculating that the console will support a blu-ray formay enabling the system to offer both 1080p movies and games.

Check out what is being noted:

- The Wii2 system will feature a Blu-Ray drive with a secondary aim of stopping piracy.
- 1080P and lower resolutions will be supported, for blu-ray movies and games.
- The release date is scheduled for third quarter of 2010.
- The release will be worldwide and on the same day for all countries.
- A scheme will be available in which it is possible to trade in the original Wii for a cheaper price on the new Wii 2.

Let’s play with the possibility that this does happen for a minute. Today the blu-ray format is much more afforable to manufacture which could be advantageous for Nintendo as they could enter the HD gaming arena not only offering great looking games and blu-ray movie playback but they could introduce this new console at a competitively affordable price point.

Another point to consider is how this could positively affect the blu-ray market. It’s no secret that the blu-ray market is ever-increasing as the format of choice for more and more consumers looking to upgrade their home movie experience. In addition this would also provide more money in the pockets of Sony in the long run. Based on the possibilities this move could also force Microsoft to adopt format as well.

With more than 50% of the current marketshare during this console generation this rumored move by Nintendo could be a great way for developers to bring over their AAA titles at a low cost with the potential of great financial reward. If this does happen don’t be surprised to see many PS3 and Xbox 360 multiplatform titles being offered on the Wii2.

The first of it’s kind, come December 29 the highly anticipated last chapter in the God Of War series in the form of a demo and one of this summers most talked about movies known as District 9 will be forged together on one blu-ray disc. As most hardcore gamer know, the God Of War III demo will also be available in November as it will come offered with the upcoming God Of War Collection bundle featuring both God Of War & God Of War II running in 720p HD.

This new hybrid disc will be the first time both a movie and game will be offered on one blu-ray disc. Also as an added feature for Kratos fan like myself, those that complete the demo will be able to unlock the exclusive making of God of War III featurette. Very cool indeed!

With the so many upcoming PS3 exclusives on the horizon, it is going to be interesting to see what other hybrid discs Sony has up their sleeve.

Kratos fans, such as myself, are salivating at the chance to play the “Ghost of Sparta” on PS3. The God of War Collection is coming to North America on November 17 and Sony revealed the Trophies for the game today. It also includes Trophy support, and each game (God of War and God of War II) will have its own Platinum Trophy to collect. To unlock both Platinum Trophies, all you have to do is collect the 30 plus Trophies from each title

As you look over this list of trophies for Assassin’s Creed II from the link below for the PS3, there really is no reason not to believe these trophies are not the real deal. Of course this is not a confirmation article with Ubisoft references however, we’re pretty much sold that more than 90% of the trophies revealed are legit.

Naughty Dog writes;

For those unfamiliar with them, a Motion Comic is essentially an animated comic book – you watch it like a movie. Characters move, there’s some 3D effects, and cool panel transitions. Expect some of your favorite characters and voice-actors from the UNCHARTED universe to show up throughout the story. Other than Nolan North reprising his role as Nathan Drake, I can’t announce who else shows up in the story as that’ll spoil some of the fun.

We’re launching the first episode for free to whet your appetite and the rest of the episodes will come out in November. Be on the lookout for an upcoming announcement about an awesome pack-in that we’ll include with future episodes.

It appears publisher EA is sparring no expense in order to bring the vision of Visceral Games new title, DANTE’S INFERNO to fruition. We’ve shown an array of Dante’s Inferno footage and this latest video interview shown is another example of the over-the-top gameplay experience users cannot wait to have.
