Arguably one of the best shooters to ever launch, KILLZONE 2 has become the defacto shooter for millions of PS3 users worldwide. While the game definitely experienced it’s fair share of doubters based on the infamous 2005 E3 CG trailer, the games final vision and technical prowess has gone on to become one of today’s graphical benchmarks in gaming. So, obviously the next question is, when can we expect to experience another romp through the trenches of KILLZONE?

Well according to StickSkills, KLLZONE 3 has been labeled as one of the “Secret Games Of 2010″ in the latest Playstation: Official Magazine issue.

The issue reads:

There probably is no debate on whether or not a sequel is in the making as the ending of KILLZONE 2 clearly lends to the idea that all hell is about break loose in KILLZONE 3 despite going through hell to get to the Helghast dictator Visari in KILLOZNE 2. However, the idea that KILLZONE 3 could release in 2010 does seem somewhat profound due to the 4 year development process of KILLZONE 2.

Nevertheless, Guerrilla Games could very well be moving right along in development adding the necessary touch-ups to their completed KILLZONE 2 engine in order to keep Sony’s prized shooter ahead of the pack.

A 2010 holiday launch release would seem like the best time to release the game since the first two quarters of the year are already filled with highly anticpated PS3 exclusives and multiplayer titles.  Regardless, like many users this writer is definitely hoping for an added co-op mode in the next installmet.
