440,000 PS3’s Sold During Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend

Ever since the much sought after PS3 price drop the black behemoth which has drastically slimmed down it’s outer appearance has gained increasing momentum. September and October saw the PS3 outselling competitor Xbox 360 and November seems to be heading in a similar direction based on the lastest sales announcements.
According to Gamespot, today Sony has announced that the PS3 has sold over 440,000 consoles during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend which for the weekend alone is a 37.2% increase over the PS3’s sales in the month of October which registered at 320,600 consoles sold. In comparison to rival Xbox 360 which displayed a 3 to 1 sales advantage over the PS3 in 2008 during the Thanksgiving weekend, Gamespot points out that the PS3 has come close to quadrupling it’s 2008 Thanksgiving totals.
