Final Fantasy XIII is definitely rocking in Japan, with the recent release last Friday Square Enix couldn’t be happier as new reports have registered total copies sold at 1,516,532. As we reported last week, prior to the Final Fantasy XIII release there were over 4 million PS3’s sold in Japan, so the attach rate of PS3 users in Japan adopting this game is definitely high.

In addition the PS3 sales have also increased within the recent four days of the Final Fantasy XIII release. PS3 sales jumped to 245,406 sold consoles during that time. Since the September price drop of the PS3 it also seems quite apparent Sony has been on a warpath closing the gap in on their nearest competitor, Microsoft’s Xbox 360. With games like Final Fantasy XIII closing out the year as a PS3 exclusive in Japan and the extremely positive looking quarter one 2010 which offers some highly anticipated PS3 exclusives in the form of MAG, White Knight Chronicles, God Of War 3 and Gran Turismo 5, it might be just a matter of time until we see a significant difference in this current console war.
