Devil May Cry 5, a game rumored to be in the making has now been confirmed as VG247 points out how Keiji Inafune recently explained in an interview with 3DJuegos the new direction and influences for the upcoming title. Now seeking more attention from western gamers, Inafune states;

“Devil May Cry 5 is a game that, when started development, this will change a lot in relation to the above,” said Inafune.

“The reason is that, despite the franchise has some very loyal followers, their sales are not particularly high, especially overseas.”

With no word on how far along the development has been, if no visual candy is surfaced by TGS then we might have to wait until next year to get a glimpse of Devil May Cry 5.

Some blessed soul has done us all a favor and uploaded quite a few stellar image of what can only be screenshots taken from the upcoming Batman: Arkham City title which is projected to release in 2011.

In these updates images it seems developer Rocksteady has been hard at work upgrading the character models of Batman: Arkham Asylum as The Dark Knight (Batman), Harley Quinn, and the goons of Gotham City are even more visually impressive than before. Rocksteady is also bringing Catwoman and Harvey Dent to the party this time around.

These new image look amazing and hopefully we’ll get gameplay footage soon.

Square Enix has just provided an update regarding the Final Fantasy XIV open beta which was announced to be postponed on Aug. 31, 2010.

With resolution of the issue which hindered the Aug 31st release of the open beta Square Enix has decided to begin Final Fantasy XIV open beta test on September. 2, 2010 (tomorrow) at 02:00 (GMT).

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announce a new demo for Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole - The Videogame available on September 8 for PS3 through Playstation Network and Xbox 360 through Xbox Live Arcade on September 6th.

The demo allows players to take to the sky as they defend all of owl-kind and do battle with the evil Pure Ones. As a winged warrior, players will learn several awesome aerial combat maneuvers and explore the landscape in the world of Ga’Hoole with full 360 degree flight mechanics.

STORY BRIEF
In Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole - The Videogame, a young owlet named Soren arrives at the Great Ga’Hoole Tree and tells of his escape from the evil Pure Ones, revealing a new threat to the owl kingdom. Players can take control of their favorite owl and fly around the kingdom fending off evil with their feathery allies.

This week Black Rock Studios is dropping 2 new explosive DLC packs for Spilt/Second to keep the intensity levels spiked. Known as the ‘The Elite Vehicle Livery Pack’ and the ‘High Octane Supercar Pack’, these new additions are fierce. The High Octane Supercar DLC will have a price tag of $2 attached to in the Playstation Store.

Today 2K Games announced the September 7 release date for Jimmy’s Vendetta, the second downloadable game add-on for the epic crime game, Mafia II. With the Medal Of Honor beta now closed to the public, EA and DICE are now hard at work upgrading and putting the final touches on their upcoming military shooter. If you were able to get your hands on the MOH beta I’m pretty sure you like many had a list issues with the beta. On a personal note I can recall times where I had to keep reminding myself that I was playing a beta due to all the shortcomings of the experience.

Despite the frustrations of the beta, the sole purpose of any beta is meant for feedback. Developers want and need our feedback in order to craft the experience we’re looking for. Sometimes gamers would rather complain instead of giving feedback where needed as if developers should be able to read their minds, unfortunately it doesn’t work that way. It’s definitely a privilege for developers to even extend a beta to the public and thankfully thousands of gamers have indeed pointed out all the fixes that needed to be overhauled.

Today SEGA has officially announced that the demo for Vanquish will be available for download at the Playstation Store for your PS3 in the US on August 31st and across Europe on September 1st.

The demo will give players the option to choose one level from the two levels of difficulty (Casual or Normal). Taking on the role of Sam, a United States government agent kitted out with a futuristic ARS battle suit, players are vying for ownership of the planet’s remaining energy resources against Russia on board a huge space station. On entering the third port lobby of the space station, numerous enemy robots are being brought in by dropships.

Players have an array of weaponry and upgrades at their disposal, as well as the ability to hijack these mech like mobile station known as Walkers, or use the suits unique boost and AR mode to take down the robots. The demo climaxes with the formidable boss, Argus which you will need to use all your skills acquired throughout the demo to defeat.

When will we be able to get our grubby hands on the first next-gen Castlevania title? Konami along with MercurySteam the hardworking development team behind the upcoming Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow has finally announced the launch date for the game. Drum roll please……October 5.

Coming to both the PS3 and Xbox 360, Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow users will take the place of Gabriel Belmont, a member of the legendary vampire-hunting Belmont clan. Along your journey you will hunt down the Lords of Shadow in order to bring together an ancient relic known as The God Mask. By doing so you as Gabriel Belmont will have the power of returning the dead back to life. Awesome stuff, right!

As I mentioned before, the gamers complained and the developers at Sucker Punch listened as Cole McGrath, the super-cool electrifying super hero from the original inFAMOUS will be making his return just as we know.

Do you guys remember the original FRONT MISSION 3 title which released back on the original Playstation, well Square Enix has just announced they are re-releasing it via download for the Playstation 3 and PSP straight from the Playstation Network.

FRONT MISSION 3 is a sprawling strategy sci-fi adventure which gives you giant mechanical battle machines known as ‘Wanzers’. You can choose from one of two independent stories, each with its own unique characters, situations and environments with up to 150 hours of engrossing gameplay.

It has been a long time so here is the story in a nutshell;

The year is 2112. When an explosion tears through the Yokosuka military base, test pilot Kazuki Takemura and his friend Ryogo Kusama find themselves caught in the middle of a complex global conspiracy.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Prestige Edition and the Call of Duty: Black Ops Hardened Edition, are expected to be this year’s hottest collector’s items. Call of Duty: Black Ops launches on 9th November, giving gamers the latest classified surveillance technology - the RC-XD - as part of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Prestige Edition.

For the Prestige Edition, Treyarch and Activision created an entirely original remote controlled surveillance vehicle inspired by the RC-XD from Black Ops Multiplayer. With a range of up to 200 feet, the RC-XD Surveillance Vehicle has a fully-functioning remote camera that transmits both TFT colour video and audio to its operator.

The Prestige Edition is inclusive of the Hardened Edition, which includes a custom Black Ops limited edition medal, exclusive Black Ops Avatar outfit, as well as four playable co-operative maps.
